Smarter Buildings, Stronger City

As San Antonio continues to grow, building efficiently and sustainably from the start can help avoid costly retrofits, reduce long-term energy and water demand, and ensure new development is prepared for future climate conditions.

Build San Antonio Green (BSAG) is a regional nonprofit that works with Bexar County, CPS Energy, and the City of San Antonio to certify energy-efficient homes and commercial buildings. Its certifications recognize projects that go beyond City Code by incorporating sustainable design and construction practices, such as improved energy efficiency, reduced water use, and building weatherization.
